Update for all you pickleball fanatics,
After reviewing different options and costs, the board has decided that the SHPC will be transitioning to a 501c3 non-profit organization. This will help when we finally start accepting donations for pickleball court construction. We will be in charge of the funds until needed for an approved project and grant acceptance. This is a cleaner option than trying to piggyback on another organization's non-profit status and we are the ones controlling the funds. There will be a one time attorney fee for filing articles of incorporation, rewriting our bylaws and 501c3 applications. We've been told it may take up to 6 months to have the 501c3 approved. There will be some cost annually for filing some tax forms.
Save the dates:
4th of July Parade - At the High School
Annual Meeting/Elections - July 25 at the Senior Center
Blueberry Festival Parade - Aug 10 At the High School
SHPC Picnic - Aug 19 at Stanley Johnson Park
Holiday Party - Dec 10 at the Senior Center
The annual meeting will include election of board members. The positions for President, Secretary and all 3 At Large Directors are open for nominations. If you're interested in applying for any of these positions, please submit your nominations to the board at least 14 days prior to the annual meeting by email to southhavenpickleballclub@gmail.com.
The Membership renewal process for the SHPC is changing slightly.
Memberships do not have to be renewed in June but will renew on the anniversary of your membership.
Example: If you signed up or renewed March 20, 2023 you would receive an email to renew March 20, 2024.
You should receive a notice 3 days prior and another on the expiration date. An example of the email you should receive is below. This should make it easier so you will get a reminder on your membership anniversary and don't have to remember it in June. This change will be reflected in the new organizations bylaws.
